4-H Manitoba

Mission:

To create a engaging website for Manitoba 4-H that communicates their mission, promotes youth programs, and provides resources for members, volunteers, and the community.

What I did:

Stakeholder Collaboration:
I worked closely with the Manitoba 4-H team to understand their goals, target audience, and desired functionality for the new website. I gathered information about their programs, events, and resources to ensure the website serves their needs.
Information Architecture:
I designed a user-friendly information architecture that organizes the website‘s content logically. This makes sure that visitors can easily find the information they need, whether they are youth members, parents, volunteers, or community partners.
Design & Prototyping:
I created wireframes and mockups to explore different design concepts and user flows. I then developed interactive prototypes to refine the design and make a seamless user experience.
Front-end Development:
I built the website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, focusing on accessibility, performance, and a responsive design that adapts to various screen sizes and devices.
Back-end Development:
I developed a custom events calendar that allows members and volunteers to easily find and register for upcoming events and activities. I also integrated a resource library, providing easy access to valuable information and downloads.
Content Management System:
I implemented a user-friendly content management system (CMS) that empowers the Manitoba 4-H staff to easily update website content, manage events, and add resources.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
I optimized the website for search engines by conducting keyword research, optimizing content, and implementing technical SEO best practices. This ensures that the website is easily discoverable by people searching for 4-H programs and resources in Manitoba.
Testing & Launch:
I conducted thorough testing to ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and optimal performance. I then launched the website and provided training and ongoing support to the Manitoba 4-H team.
